How long should my brake pads last?

I have an 05 Silverado 1500 Regular Cab 2x4 with 50K miles on it. I am pretty easy on braking, but I drive in town about half the time. I have never towed with it. I have noticed I have to push the brakes a little farther down then in the past and I want to stay on top of things so I don't have to buy rotors and calipers down the road. How much of the original ceramic pads do I have? Thanks. How long should my brake pads last?It sounds like your losing brake fluid. There might be a leak in the line somewhere. Take it in to a place that fixes brakes and get them checked. If you hear a little grinding when you apply the brakes, the truck into the shop right away. The rivets that hold the pads in place are cutting into the rotors. The rotors would have to be ground down if it's to deep. If the rotors get ground too thin, You'll need them replaced. How long should my brake pads last?well when u start crashin in to stuff i would check it outHow long should my brake pads last?If you are having to push down harder I would suggest getting your rear brakes checked and adjusted (if it has drum brakes) I would also suggest getting your rotors machined as they become glazed. If they notice the pads are worn then you could have them replacedHow long should my brake pads last? The only way to gauge wear is to pull a front and rear wheel and measure...

Bonded pads/shoes (glued essentially) normally should be replaced when they have less than 1/8 inch material left.
