i just got done replacing the brake pads (all 4) on my 1997 poniac trans am , but i hear this rubbing like noise every time i'm driving slow and i sumtimes hear it ecko when i'm near a curb, my dad said its just the brakes need to basically be broken in, is this true, and if it is how long do believe it takes to stop?Is it normal for brakes to make noises after replacing the brake pads?It sounds like your dad is right...Sometimes you even get a rubbery, burning smell too.Is it normal for brakes to make noises after replacing the brake pads?Sounds like your new pads are rubbing on the rotors. feel your wheels after a short drive if they are hot to the touch you probably should have it checked out.

http://www.firebirdnation.comIs it normal for brakes to make noises after replacing the brake pads?Like the other guy said, the new pads rub up on the roters and take a few days to break in(shouldnt be more than a week)Is it normal for brakes to make noises after replacing the brake pads?I agree with your father, You might have got one a little tighter than the others, or there might be a hard spot on one brake bad. If you can locate where the noise is coming from, you might take it back off and lightly sand the pads and the noise will probably go away.Is it normal for brakes to make noises after replacing the brake pads?if the rotors were not replaced or refinished expect noiseIs it normal for brakes to make noises after replacing the brake pads?YES IT IS TRUE AND THEY WILL BREAK IN ABOUT 2 WEEKS WELL DEPENDING ON HOW MUCH YOU DRIVE
