Do i need to replace my brake pads?

I have a 07 Camry SE Automatic and it has 35000km on it. In the morning before work when i back out and step on the brake a little it makes a weird sound (coming from the back) but later its gone. Also my brakes sometimes squeak but not all the time. How much is it to get my brakes looked at?Do i need to replace my brake pads? You might, although pads usually last longer than that. Depends on how you drive.

That said, when a car has sat for a while, rust will form on the rotors. Often you will hear a scraping noise when you first move the car as that rust is removed by the pads. THAT sound is normal, and happens on every car I've ever had.

Its easy enough to jack the car up, pull the wheel and look in the back of the caliper to see how much pad is left. The inside pads always seem to wear out first.Do i need to replace my brake pads? You need new drums. And cost would depend on who you have do it. At the most 600$ if you go to the right person 300$.Do i need to replace my brake pads?for a brake inspection, the Toyota dealer might do it for free depending on the dealer, or next time you go in for a oil change tell then to inspect the brakes. brakes shouldn't go bad with the Km you have on your car.

^^(post above mine) i don't think 07 Camry's have drums, i think they are all rotorsDo i need to replace my brake pads?Depends. In Malaysia, if you send it to the Service Branch, as long as you maintain with the service there, they'll inspect or diagnose for free. If you send to the %26quot;Cherry Tree%26quot; workshop (term used for independent workshops, notorious for unskilled results), then I won't dare name a price...
