How to use a disc brake pad spreader?

We're trying to do our own brakes and bought a disc brake pad spreader. I can't figure out how to use the dang thing. We're in way over our heads! Anyone know where I can find pics or something?How to use a disc brake pad spreader?to be honest it is easier to use a screwdriver stick it in between the brake pad and the rotor and hit it with a hammer and wiggle it back and forth and it will move the piston back enough that you can get the caliper off with the brake pads then use a C clamp to collapse the piston all the way and put it back together. do not forget to put some never seize on the thread ends of the caliper bolts before you put them back inHow to use a disc brake pad spreader?i have been working on cars for a while and never have i used that the easy thing to do would be to take an old pad and use a c-clamp to compress the piston in the caliper, make sure to open the bleed screw up long enough to do this then tighten it back.
