Do i need to replace my brake pads?

I have a 07 Camry SE Automatic and it has 35000km on it. In the morning before work when i back out and step on the brake a little it makes a weird sound (coming from the back) but later its gone. Also my brakes sometimes squeak but not all the time. How much is it to get my brakes looked at?Do i need to replace my brake pads?You might, although pads usually last longer than that. That said, when a car has sat for a while, rust will form on the rotors. Often you will hear a scraping noise when you first move the car as that rust is removed by the pads. THAT sound is normal, and happens on every car I've ever had.



Its easy enough to jack the car up, pull the wheel and look in the back of the caliper to see how much pad is left.
