Its a 2001 Toyota Camry. The soonest I can get it fixed is in 11 days. The noise is pretty bad and the car seems to be struggling. How long can I drive on worn brake pads?It will just get more expensive at this point until you can't stop the car and then it gets real expensive. You should fix this as soon as there is evidence that brakes are worn out.
Pads are cheap, when you first hear the tell tail sounds of the squealing, that is the little nosie makers that are built into the pad and scrape the rotor. Past that point those pads are worn metal to metal that is when they make the grinding sounds. Sometime you can catch them in time and only need the pads changed and the rotors resurfaced. When you let it go the pads will ruin the rotors to the point that they cannot be resurfaced and new one are needed. After that you are an accident looking for a place to happen. Never neglect brakes! How long can I drive on worn brake pads? You should normally drive it until you hear the squeaking noise....Once the squeaking noise gets unbearable or it stops and a grinding sound starts then you should really go and change them because the pads are now grinding your disc. {When the squeaking begins you still have a month or two depending on how you drive.} Put on your to do list but if you need to save money it can be put off for a while...but don't forget to change them...hope this helps. How long can I drive on worn brake pads?Struggling how? To stop? Lol, I would definately not drive it. And another thing is the pads could start messing up and grinding into your rotors which would be a lot more expensive to replace then just the pads if they aree relly worn down. The noise isn't a good sign. I would not drive it at all honestly or try to get it fixed sooner. How long can I drive on worn brake pads?Well you answer your own question. You keep on and you will be buying new rotors. So the $100 job to jumped up to $250 or more. Stop driving it and get them fixed before you kill me or someone else on the road. How long can I drive on worn brake pads? You can drive on them as long as you want, but eventually there will be so much friction that they will stick and you could get hurt. You should change them as soon as possible. How long can I drive on worn brake pads?i think 11 days will b fine. take it easy %26amp; break early when coming 2 stops. if it really has a hard time stopping like sliding through stop signs there's a real problem. b extremely careful on the highway.
