Hi there, I need to replace JUST the brake pads on the rear of my Astra G Coupe. How easy is it to do - do I need any special tools?

Have it done in the local garage they should charge you no more than an hour labour and their standard rate plus the VAT. They are more likely to do it properly and certainly better than you can

If the disks are scored you can grind them by jacking up and running the engine but if they're not too bad new pads will quickly bed in

Sounds like the rotors or brake discs as they are called in UK are already damaged which need not of happened if you had just fitted the new brake pads in time ! The car now has a serious brake deficiency and should NOT BE DRIVEN

Install new pads, reinstall caliper and bolts, repeat for other side. 3. go to private auto repair shop, IE. Joe's auto repair.- ???? quality of work- no guarantee on parts quality- lowest price option

brakes for your car would run from about 20$ to 100$ depending on quality per set front and rear, hopefully there is no damage to rotors which can run you between 30 and 150$ per rotor(4 total) and labor will probably run you about 100$ to 200$, I'm so glad I know how to do it myself and got a %26quot;hook-up%26quot; at the dealer to get my parts at discount
