Honda Accord V6 New Brake pads and rotors squealing sound?

I have got new Brake pads and Rotors on my 2000 Accord V6. Brake pads were done on one weekend and the rotors on the next weekend. Once the brake pads have been replaced, I have started to hear a squealing sound from my front left wheel when ever I hit the brake. It hasnt stopped after the new rotors went in and its the same. I called the guy and asked him why is the squealing sound coming. He said, everything is new and it takes around 10 days for the brakes and rotors to adjust and dont squeal. Is he BS ing me or being honest? I googled and it appears that he is partly true. How ever, I am not sure if thats the truth in my case or not. Any advice?Honda Accord V6 New Brake pads and rotors squealing sound? No. You are dealing with what results when you don't properly seat new brake pads. If you live near an area with country roads with little to no traffic, do this seating procedure.

Drive the car at 60 mph come to a complete stop. Drive 10 minutes at 60 mph and do it again.

Then driving the car to 60mph gradually hit the breaks to slow down to 35. Drive 3 minutes at 60 mph and do this again. Do this 4 times total. . Your burn in is complete. And your new brakes are seated.

Brake burn in, or break in, or run in or seating is basically heating up the brake pads so that the pads transfer material to the rotor. You do this gradually to prevent glazing which will result in the squealing you are hearing. The glazing would normally go away after about a week to 2 weeks as more brake pad material is transfered to the rotor, but the procedure I described will seat your brakes quicker.

Going thru the procedure as described will remove the glaze, and also seat the pads.

Good luck.Honda Accord V6 New Brake pads and rotors squealing sound?its true it might take even longer i had a squeak for months b4 it just went away, its not damaging anything so no worryHonda Accord V6 New Brake pads and rotors squealing sound?Sounds like the person that did your brakes and rotors did not have the rotors turned be be for he put them on. and you could use anti brake lubrication for the brake pads.Honda Accord V6 New Brake pads and rotors squealing sound?yes when you replaced the pads on cars, they have to get set to the rotors, but did he clean off the rotors after he replaced them(to get the grease off the rotors)or you could have gotten hard linings too.just drive it some and see if they will stop.
