How much time will it take to check and possibly install new brake pads?

I have a 1994 magna which has started to make a grinding noise when it breaks.



I'm going in on monday to get the brakes checked and fixed, everyone is saying it will prob just need new brake pads. Just wondering how long this will take?



Also any idea of how much it should cost? I've been told no more than $160. I'm a girl and taking it in myself so I don't wanna get ripped off.

If its just pads then 3/4 to1 hour time plus the cost of pads in the range of $150.

If the rooters need replacement then you can tack on at least another $150. It still takes about and 45 mins to do in any case.

can call any parts store ask how much brake pads for your car cost gives you a ideal of part price most shops charge 80 buck a hour soHow much time will it take to check and possibly install new brake pads?if they are grinding like you say then you might also need new rotors or get yours turned down. it don,t take too long to install pads if that,s all you need. once they start grinding it won,t take long to put grooves in the rotors. when you say grinding do you mean grinding or squealing ? there,s a difference. grinding is when the metal part of the pad is going into the rotors and squealing means it,s time for new pads or you could luck out and it,s only brake dust.
