To know . . . you must SEE the pads. Take the wheel off and look at the thickness of the pads. If you pull the calipers, go ahead and put on the new pads . . . since, you are THERE.
To answer your question, almost all of the time it is the FRONT pads that do most of the braking and that need replacng more often.
